Write to Ride Contest Description

WITW Oz Outlawz held our first Write to Ride Essay contest in 2020 with the intention of creating a sustainable Scholarship program that will allow us to mentor new riders throughout each year.  So far we have awarded 7 scholarships and are planning on continuing this as long as we there is interest. The $250.00 scholarship will be applied to one of two accredited local beginners course.

The Write to Ride contest is open to and free to all women 18 years of age or older, you must have a Valid D.L. and residing in Northeast Kansas.

What is Write to Ride?

Women in the Wind’s Mission is to Unite women motorcyclists with friends of common interest while promoting a positive image to the public of women on motorcycles and educating our members on motorcycle safety and maintenance.

The Oz Outlawz is Women in the Wind’s Topeka Chapter. In our commitment to The WITW purpose it is our goal to mentor new women riders. One part of that mentorship is Sponsoring at least one new female rider in one of our local Accredited Riding Courses each year. Depending on donations made to our program, more than one scholarship a year may be awarded, allowing Recipients of the WRITE TO RIDE Scholarship the ability to learn and earn their Motorcycle endorsement while being mentored by fellow seasoned riders.
